Dubu jorim is a Korean tofu dish. Consists of firm tofu (“dubu”), sliced and braised (“jorim”) in a marinade of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, scallion, chili powder, sugar.
Such a simple, common dish that I’d assumed making it would be a snap. The recipe that I followed for this first attempt didn’t turn out so well. I may just develop my own recipe, which I’ll post here once perfected.
Aren’t you supposed to pan-fry it first? That’s how I always do it. I think that helps maintain a bit of structural integrity and adds a slightly different texture too.
yes, pan-frying is a recommended step. but the problem here was the sauce. i’ll be sure to pan-fry next time.
