EK is passing through town.

Given a choice of dinner venue, she opted for Li Li (see most recently 6.211 Scallops with Broccoli), contrary to the expectation that she’d want to revisit our old favorite hangout spot Tao Yuan (see generally 6.095 DONE) — maybe next time.

Fried Crispy Noodles, Assorted Seafood (3.0) — the scallops, shrimp, and bokchoy were nice, but the noodles were only so-so; disappointing effort on this most fundamental of Cantonese noodle dishes.

Scallops with Broccoli (4.0)

The Taiwan-Style Braised Chicken Fillet & Basil Leaves Casserole was okay.  Tender chunks of chicken, nicely seasoned in a spicy soy sauce, the basil leaves providing something of a Southeast Asian flavor.  Not the best dish of the meal, but certainly the most distinctive.
