While I absolutely and adamantly adore having the team with me in Manila (at least certain members thereof), one drawback is that duty travels aren’t as exciting as they used to be, because I can’t help but yearn to get back home (to see the boys, for example).  When I was living on my own, nothing but an empty apartment waiting for me, I would’ve extended my stay most likely, particularly with a free weekend ahead of me.  But no, I’m now compelled to forego fun in favor of goddamfamdamily.  Which is fine for me, but it does limit potential content opportunities for the blog — just looking out for GMTD’s  four current readers (if you’re reading this, you’re one of them) — although I am aware that readers rarely seem much interested in my traveling posts.

    1. perhaps, though I would think that you kinda know me by now. so maybe it’s more accurate to say that you’re my only reader whom I don’t know personally…

    2. Nope! Not true, Nancy. I’m in the same boat as you! I don’t know the original poster/author of this blog personally either. I found this site somehow, almost over a year ago, and I’ve been regularly following his posts and blog entries ever since!

  1. who knows, yale and nancy might actually know each other in the real world.

readers DC and LJY had been trading comments thru GMTD for awhile (over a year?), and it turned out that DC’s husband works(ed?) in LJY’s firm. they made the realization while chatting about food blogs at the christmas party (or something random like that). I know them both personally, of course, but thru separate channels, and hadn’t known about the husband connection, so it took me by surprise as well.
