Mission to Korea, Day 4 (see previously 7.324 Left Behind).

In Seoul.  Here for the 2nd Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentarian Forum on Global Health : The Role of Parliamentarians in Achieving Health in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs), Thursday to Friday.  While the Organization’s engagement with the 1st Annual Meeting last year had been limited to on-site technical support (see generally 6.178 Sliders), we scaled up the support this year to lead the programme development from the outset, me in charge — my biggest project of the year. Done — drop mic.  Back to Manila tomorrow.

For lunch, the boss treated the participants to Korean BBQ at Daedo Restaurant.
Many of the guests, like our esteemed delegates from Myanmar, had never experienced Korean BBQ and seemed fascinated by the setup.
The boss and our esteemed delegates from the Philippines.
The restaurant had no vegetarian options, so we had the hotel prepare a few lunch boxes and brought them with us; one set = KRW 80,000 (about USD 75)!

Thoroughly exhausted, I wanted nothing more than to go home and let my mother feed me, her minimalist brand of comfort food (see for example 7.298 A Special Korean At-Home Meal …) just what I needed to detox/cleanse/revitalize.
