W came home with several packets of DIY Pyeongyang-style mul naeng myeon, branded as Bong Piyang.

Uncertain if Bong Siktak, which produced the kit, is an offshoot of the restaurant business, or just a similar sounding partner.
Tellingly, the picture on the broth packet doesn’t show any meat.

It was … okay.  The noodles did a reasonable textural approximation, though they tasted a bit flat.  The broth was dry but no depth, no trace of beefiness.  The pickled cabbage topping was fine.  Perhaps better than other so-called Pyeongyang-style MNM kits (see for comparison 11.158 Pyeongyang Mul Naeng Myeon), but nowhere near the real deal, not even close to my own home version (see for comparison 12.187 Mul Naeng Myeon).

In addition to pickled cabbage, toppings on the restaurant version include pickled radish + pickled cucumber + egg ribbons + sliced beef.

Bong Piyang won the MNM review (Seoul Searching for Pyeongyang-Style Perfection) back in Cycle 4 (see 4.179 The Piyang MNM).
