After initial moderate successes with the banchan vendor at The J-Mart (see most recently 16.019 Home-Style Bibimbap) – recently rebranded as The J Market – I’m sad to report that subsequent experiences were consistently disappointing, so I usually don’t even bother looking anymore, except to grab the occasional gimbap as a quick snack.

Other than being kinda cold, the biggest problem with pre-made gimbap is that I can’t request the “ham” to be omitted.
