Passing through the soon-to-be new/old neighborhood, I had lunch at Dongboseong, the only Korean-Chinese eatery in the immediate vicinity of Oksu Station. During the first 4 years of GMTD while living in Oksu (before relocating to Manila), the restaurant was only featured twice (see most recently 4.288 Nanjawans) – curiously, both at the restaurant, both for dinner, both with the camping crew – though we had ordered delivery “many times,” always lunch. I’m pleasantly surprised that they’re still in business. Time will tell if it becomes our go-to joint.
To gauge quality and technique, I often order japtangbap when visiting a Korean-Chinese restaurant for the first time.
It was competent. Fresh ingredients, balanced flavors. But too many onions, and a bit too oily. Good enough.
