As of today, GMTD’s streak of 555 dinner photos, all taken by me with the same device over 555 consecutive days, came to an abrupt and accidental end.  

On Sunday morning, two days from now, still at the campsite, I would awaken to find my phone in a chair out in the open, in a pool of rainwater that had collected overnight.  The phone was dead, drowned.  Later, the Apple service center would inform me that the data was lost – my only regret was losing photos of dinner #556 (tonight) and #557 (tomorrow).

Fortunately, my cousins did take a couple photos of the food this evening.

Unfortunately, they are terrible food photographers.
