Salmon Avocado Salad

at Salafarm
(Canal Walk)
-Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon, Republic of Korea-
with AH, CB
As part of the company’s expanding engagement with international schools, we co-sponsored an author visit at CI featuring Anton Hur, a translator who had been shortlisted over the summer for the International Booker Prize on 2 works that he had translated from Korean into English. In helping to bring the event together, which turned out to be a resounding success, I felt a glimmer of my old life organizing meetings at WHO.

Salafarm is a western restaurant. Specializes in salads and panini, mostly Americanish in character. The name of the place is a portmanteau of “salad” + “farm” (actually, just “salad farm” without the “d” – would that still count as a portmanteau?) – presumably to emphasize freshness and healthiness, even though the menu includes New York Hot Dog.

Afterwards, I took AH out to lunch, along with CB, secondary school librarian.
