Rigatoni with Scallops & Mushrooms in Cream Sauce

As a belated birthday present, which was bypassed this year because she hadn’t been feeling well at the time, MIL asked me to cook pasta for dinner.  How could I say no?

Judging by the inclusion of radish sprouts and chogochujang, the scallops were sold as a ready-to-eat anju, though they seemed a tad fishy as is.

Not part of the plan, but the store had parboiled scallops, which I purchased on a whim and improvised to sauté with mushrooms in butter with garlic, then toss with rigatoni in cream sauce.

It was really good.
