Home alone on Saturday evening, I was already sloshed before sunset and blacked out sometime thereafter – admittedly, getting sloshed isn’t a rare occurrence for me, but almost always after dinner, and almost never to the point of blacking out.

I have zero recollection of making this dish.  I woke up the next morning to find the skillet on my desk, with bones and residue of the gravy.  But judging by the photo – surprisingly well-framed and focused, even though I was so drunk that I can’t remember taking the shot – it looks good, maybe even perfect.  I probably enjoyed it very much, especially because food usually tastes better under the influence.  While somewhat embarrassed not to remember, I’m also impressed with myself – roast chicken and pan gravy are difficult to pull off when sober.
