A big factor in deciding to do the book fair at GSIS was the linkage to their annual International Festival, which was held today. Open to all the families of the school, as well as anyone in the surrounding neighborhoods, I was hoping that the event would boosts sales by bringing parents onto campus, which usually works (e.g., parent-teacher conferences, music recitals), and by making new customers from the outside. While we did a tad better than yesterday, it wasn’t enough to make up for the overall disappointing outcome.
Interestingly, GSIS hosts a disproportional number of foreign families. Lots of Indians and Japanese, who work at the nearby Samsung headquarters, and Americans, overflow from Camp Humphreys.
The butter chicken was quite good.
