LUNCH
As recently noted, the food at Dim Dimsum seems to have undergone a change for the worse (see 15.108 Mushroom Dimsum). To confirm, I returned this afternoon for lunch, along with IZ for a second opinion.
We agreed that the dumplings were fine (see above), as well as the wonton noodle soup, but the chungfun was atrocious (see above), which I rejected without even bothering to try it.
SHOPPING
The LEGO store in Lotte World Mall has relocated to a larger location, with better displays and wider selection.
Today is May 4 – “May the Force (May the 4th) be with you” – celebrated around the world as an informal Star Wars Day. LEGO, given its major licensing partnership with the Star Wars brand, usually does a big promotion of some kind every May 4, such as new releases, special sales, exclusive gifts with purchase, etc.
But the new store had nothing relating to May 4. When I asked one of the staff members, he had no idea what I was talking about.
DINNER
IZ friend (best friend?) SL came over for a sleepover, the first since IZ entered SIS.
I realize that I’ve been preparing a lot of beef these days, especially big ticket items like roast beef (see most recently 15.118 Roast Chuck Tail Flap), even while trying to minimize my consumption of red meat – but I had no other choice tonight, as SL is reported to have an overwhelming preference for Korean-style beef dishes, and I had a bottle of galbi marinade in the fridge nearing expiration (purchased last year by W, never opened).
