Bacon Cheese Whopper

In furtherance of a recent comment that the Whopper is just as good with or without cheese (see 15.276 Cheese Whopper), same goes with bacon.

Bacon Cheese Whoppers always remind me of a coach I had in Little League.  His name was Bob Wise, a short, fat white guy who claimed that he had played in the majors.  Once a week, after practice, he would load us in the back of his pick-up truck (this was probably illegal even back then, but nobody seemed to care), swing by the Burger King drive-thru, then take us to his place to eat and tell us obscene jokes (totally raunchy, totally inappropriate for 5th graders, likely illegal in some way).  Anyway, one of the kids noted that the Bacon Cheese Whopper was the most expensive thing on the menu, so that’s what we’d always order, as if to maximize the opportunity for free food.  Alas, we weren’t very good on the field – the whole game, he would curse and cry (actually bawling tears) from the dugout, and throw equipment against the walls – so one day he abruptly quit the team.  I think most of were relieved, even if it meant no more free Bacon Cheese Whoppers.
