Since the launch of GMTD in 2010, the United States has undergone 4 presidential elections: Obama (2012), which wasn’t mentioned on the blog; Trump (2016) (7.309 Tremendous); Biden (2020) (11.307 Neungi Baeksuk); and Trump again tonight (2024).
To put it mildly, I am devastated by the outcome. But more than that, I am completely baffled that it wasn’t even close, which shows either that half of the country (much more than half, as the vote counts would suggest) is out of their minds, or that I am.

Now utterly exhausted by the highs and lows over the past 8 years, amplified over the past 4 months, I’ve decided to disengage from American politics altogether for the time being, even if the extent of my participation had simply been to consume/binge media, especially social media, about it. No more CNN reports, no more New York Times articles, no more YouTube videos.
