The bread, a proprietary item at Costco Korea, is labelled as “Mediterranean-Style Bread.”  Chewy on the outside, like a baguette, soft and squishy on the inside, like a ciabatta – so okay maybe sorta Mediterranean.

Impressed with the texture in sandwich form, I was inspired to try making it into pizza (see also 12.030 Pizza with Gouda, Salami and Jalapeño).

Sliced in half, interior side toasted in a pan with butter.
Topped with tomato sauce + shredded cheese mix (mozzarella + cheddar + pecorino + parmesan reggiano) + minced toppings (onions + sun-dried tomatoes + anchovies + capers).
Broiled for 10 minutes, torched for 10 seconds.

Pretty good.  The toppings, which kinda turned out Mediterraneanesque (would’ve been more so with olives), were very nice.  The cheese was meh, especially the mozzarella (Korean brand), but passable  The sauce, passata that I’d seasoned and reduced to nearly a paste, was good.  The bread was excellent, as hoped.  Better than a frozen pizza (see for example 15.045 Pizza Tradizionale with Anchovies, Onions, Sun-Dried Tomatoes), more convenient than making my own dough (see for example 13.037 Pizza Alpha).
