Shrimp with Penne in Saffron Cream Sauce

Shell-on shrimp, no doubt about it (see also 16.002 Paccheri with Shrimp & Corn in Truffle “Alfredo” Sauce). The shrimp come with the shells cut down the middle (and deveined), so they provide the full flavor boost in cooking but with less hassle to remove them in eating.
