Blade Steak (mostly for the dogs)

3.0

at Vette Katten

-Samcheong, Jongro, Seoul, Republic of Korea-

with SL, dbBOOKS staff, et al

Earlier in the day, I visited SIS to attend James Rhee’s talk with the middle school.  Having met him briefly last week at YISS (see previously 16.085 Ddeokbokki + Sundae), I had more time today to discuss future opportunities for collaboration.  I look forward to collaborating closely with him on his next visit.

IZ, wearing a white “SMILEY” t-shirt (bottom left corner), doesn’t seem to be paying attention, probably looking at his phone.
Much more satisfying than the YISS logo.
Addressed to DJ and IZ!
Never seen a school prepare a banner for an author visit – even more impressive considering that James only had 1 session, and only with middle school.

Later, I met with SL, Asia sales manager for Hachette, and the folks at ICK, who represent Chronicle Books, for their spring sales pitch (see previously 15.081 Jogae Jjim).  SL brought her golden retriever again (see previously 14.071 Chorizo(less) Asparagus (and Squid) Pasta)), so I brought Louis Le Pieux to the meeting, hoping the dogs would get along (they didn’t really).  Afterwards, we went out to dinner together, including the dogs.

SL always stays in this hanok, presumably because of her dog.

Vete Katten is an Italian restaurant.  Dog friendly.

Located 132 m from the southeast tip of the Cheongwadae (Blue House) complex.
LLP, never having been allowed inside of a restaurant, didn’t seem to know what to do with himself.

The owner, a dog owner herself, was extremely accommodating.  She gave each of the dogs a water bowl and then cups of water to SL and me so that we could rinse off the salt and pepper on the pieces of steak before feeding the dogs.

Pasta and pizza would’ve been more than enough, but SL ordered steaks, more for the dogs than the people, I suspect.
