dbBOOKS was proud to partner with publisher Honford Star and the Seoul Silent Book Club to host a launch party this afternoon for the novel Red Sword by Bora Chung and translated by Anton Hur.
Third time working with Bora, first at SFS in November 2022 (see generally 13.309 Roast Chicken with Mashed Potatoes in Gravy and Buttered Vegetables), then at SIS in March 2023 (see generally 14.074 Shrimp Tacos).
Second time working Anton, first at Chadwick in October 2022 (see generally 13.274 Salmon Avocado Salad).
Ran into them both at the Seoul International Book Fair in June 2023.
First time working with Taylor (co-publisher of Honford Star), though we’ve hung out three times under quasi-work situations over the past few months: after the interview with the Korea Joongang Daily in February (see generally 16.050 Shrimp Rosé Pasta), after the Shop, Swap, Sip & Read event in March (see generally 16.069 Chicken Tacos), after the follow-up interview with the Korea Joongang Daily in April (see generally 16.089 Lobster + Fish Tacos).
The event was a huge success.
Afterwards, the principals and special guests went out for dinner and drinks – the fried chicken was surprisingly good.
What a day.
