Kue Lapis Legit is an Indonesian dish.  According to the sign in the business class lounge at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, where I discovered the dish mere minutes before departing the country: “Kue lapis legit is a traditional Indonesian cake originating from Jakarta.  The name refers to the cake’s layered texture and delicious taste.  Kue lapis legit is typically made with ingredients such as wheat flour, sugar, eggs, and butter.”  Derived from a steamed layered cake made of rice cake, with Dutch influences.

Produced by Sowan, purchased at the duty free store, part of my Indonesian food haul (see generally 16.294 Beef Rendang).

It was okay.  Texture was much denser than the cake in the airport, not necessarily in a good way.  Something about the flavor seemed to fall short, though I couldn’t put my finger on, this being only my second experience.  Anyway, the cake went well with black coffee.
