(POOL) DIVING
K26 is an indoor diving pool. The name in references to its claimed depth of 26 meters*, the deepest pool in East Asia (Deep Dive Dubai goes down to 60 m). Fees are 33,000 for 3 hrs on weekdays, 55,000 on weekends, with free gear rentals, including 1 air cylinder (filled to only 170 bar) plus 10,000 for each additional tank.

Now a certified diver (see generally 17.002 Rock Lobster in Garlic Sauce), MtG can’t get enough. Until his next overseas open water opportunity, he’s intent to keep training at local pools.

I tagged along along, partly out of curiosity, partly to see if I could help him and his wife improve their form. And yes, I’d rather be diving, even in a pool, than do anything else, especially on a Wednesday in January.

* The depth, according to my dive computer, maxed out at 24.4 meters. Because of relative density, depth will register 3% shallower in fresh water than in sea water, to which most devices are calibrated by default, so that would account for an additional 0.73 meters, totaling 25.13 meters, but still 0.87 meters shy of 26 meters.

It was fun. I’d never go there of my own accord, but maybe to refresh IZ in advance of our next dive trip.
LUNCH
Seolak Makguksu Chuncheon Dakgalbi is a Korean restaurant. Specializes in dakgalbi, as well as makguksu.

After diving, we went to lunch.

The food was awesome. If not for the special circumstances of tonight’s dinner, the dakgalbi would certainly have been the featured dish for this post. I hope to return someday to do a proper review.

(HOUSE) CAMPING
With the Oksu apartment laying empty (see generally 17.021 Kimchi Kongnamul Daegu Tang), I invited members of the camping crew to come over with gear + food + drink for a camping get-together of sorts.

Our previous outing was 3.5 years ago (see most recently 13.157 Duck (Breast) à l’Orange).

Looking forward to doing it again before renovations begin in March.
