Chinese Bibimbap

Chinese Bibimbap isn’t really a thing (I don’t think).  But seeing it on the menu, I had to try it.

Turned out to be various seafoods and veggies, sliced thin (sorta like namul?), and stir-fried in chili oil (sorta like gochujang?).  Not entirely unlike the dish at PF Chang’s yesterday (see for comparison 17.060 Fire Shrimp Rice Bowl), perhaps a notch better, at least in terms of ingredients, but too spicy.  The name of the dish is not only misnomeric but, of course, indicative in its naive simplicity of the chef’s/owner’s ignorance that they couldn’t come up with something that actually sounds Chinese (see for example 15.263 Teukbap).

Much better value at 13,000 (vs 16,800 for the PF Chang dish).

My first visit to this restaurant was with LJY and her daughter last spring (see generally 16.083 Tangsuyuk).  Just so happens to be located 142 m from the spinal hospital where I’ve received treatment for my slipped disc since 2017.  My sciatica has been acting up, so I anticipate more frequent visits, after which I look forward to eating at the restaurant.
