Second application of the Ballpark Franks (see most recently 17.065 Chilidogs with Hormel Chili & Ballpark Franks), this time cut up into thin slices as a supporting player in the chili.

Fully loaded with corn + red bell pepper, as well as lentils + macaroni, topped with a blend of American + muenster + parmesan cheeses.

Seeing a “hack” video on the Allrecipes YouTube channel featuring chips made with flour tortillas (see 15 Tortilla Hacks You Need to Try), I was intrigued, both by its simplicity and by the opportunity it presents to use up stale tortillas.

The chips came out sorta soft but got crispier as they cooled.

The chips were okay.  Cut into triangles, deep-fried for about 10 seconds on each side, drained, seasoned with salt – super quick and easy.   But a too sweet for my liking – the deep-fry seemed to intensify sugars in the tortilla (the video suggests dusting the chips with cinnamon sugar, like Churros) – perhaps other brands would fare better.   Potential.
