Pyeongyang Naeng Myeon

3.0

at Bukchangok

-Bukchang, Jung, Seoul, Republic of Korea-

with SL, IL, ICK

Bukchangok is a Korean restaurant.  Specializes in grilled Korean beef, specifically Hanwoo.

Located 247 m from the hotel.

SL, Asia sales rep for Hachette, is back in town for her twice-annual sales trip (see most recently 17.098 Handmade Marinated Pork Ribs).  After looking over new releases in her hotel – and more importantly, about terms for a Hachette X dbBOOKS partnership at SIBF 2027 – we walked down the street for dinner.

Pricy at 38,000 for a so-called 2-person portion (actually good for 1).

The food was good.  The bulgogi was decent but skimpy on the meat (Hanwoo 1++).  The MNM wasn’t truly Pyeongyang-style, closer to Seoul-style, but otherwise okay.  The clean, mild flavors suggest northern influence.

Also overpriced at 15,000.
