with Backcountry Camping

Camping Trip in Japan,  Day 3.

In Tsushima.  With members of the Backcountry Camping group, we are camping out on the island for two nights.  Flew in at the crack of dawn Saturday, flying back Monday evening. GMTD is excited to present this first series of posts from overseas.

With a bit of free time before heading to the airport, we dropped by the supermarket again and got a pre-flight snack and drink.

Again, I was so impressed by the variety and quality of the food options, as well as the booze, in a supermarket serving a portion of an island with a total population under 40,000.  Gotta hand it to the Japanese for doing everything right, always.

I opted for sushi and sashimi.  The best that I’ve had from a supermarket, the best overall in recent memory.

The smallest airport in my experience.
Security.
Immigration counter, just a folding desk.
Departure lounge.
Departure door, just steps away from the arrival door.

So much fun.
