Mul Naeng Myeon
3.0
at Okcheon Naeng Myeon Hwanghae Sikdang
-Okcheon, Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea-
solo
While I already have a favorite mul naeng myeon restaurant in Okcheon (see 3.005 Mul Naeng Myeon), I am trying out the other places, just to be sure.
While many restaurants in Okcheon claim to be the original, Okcheon Naeng Myeon Hwanghae Sikdang might actually be it. Rumor has it that the first location did so well that the owner built a bigger secondary location by the freeway, but then some internal conflict forced the two locations to separate, even though they both use the same name.

The MNM was okay. The noodles weren’t quite as chewy as I’d prefer but clean in flavor. The broth was crisp and clear but with an ever-so-subtle porky aftertaste that kept me from drinking it down. The toppings included a couple slices of pork, unusual for Okcheon. Overall, a decent offering but nothing to rave about.
