Another venerable member of the Top Five Sandwiches of All-Time: the baloney sandwich on white bread.
It comprises (i) a single slice of Oscar Mayer bologna – the standard kind, made of chicken and pork, not beef; (ii) two slices of white bread, traditionally Wonder Bread, but substitutes will suffice so long as it’s super fresh, essential because texture is key, crusts trimmed; (iii) and a thin layer of bottled mayonnaise. It represents a harmony of processed perfection.
Say what you will, but my love for this sandwich has never diminished since learning to make it as an afterschool snack back in the 3rd grade.
