This is one of the my Top Five Favorite Sandwiches of All-Time.  Every component has to be exactly so: (a) baguette (the tough and chewy kind, not the soft/fluffy rolls); (b) mayonnaise and dijon mustard (on the bread, spread lightly); (c) turkey breast (actual turkey breast, not the pressed/processed kind) (sliced paper thin); (d) black pepper (on the turkey, freshly cracked); and (e) iceberg lettuce (not romaine, not butter).  The clean/pure taste of turkey breast, smoothed out by the mayo, spiced up by the mustard, with a kick of pepper, given structure (and flavor) from the baguette, as well as crunch (and flavor) from the lettuce: perfection.

I’m tempted to give it 4.0, but it may not be special enough to warrant the distinction.

Another Top Five sandwich featured on GMTD thus far includes the Toasted Bagel with Fried Egg, Iceberg Lettuce & Tomato (see 1.324 Toasted Bagel Sandwich with Fried, Lettuce & Tomato).

I’ll discuss the remaining 3 whenever I get around to making them for dinner (I can’t believe that I haven’t done so yet).
