Cycle 4 – Item 58

I’m a sucker for E-Mart’s ready-to-go items when marked down towards the close of business late in the evening, even though they’re not very good, even at peak freshness or hot out of the oven.
On this occasion, the deal was any 3 prepackaged salad boxes for 9,900 won. I chose the Jalapeño Oriental Salad + Salmon Salad + Cauliflower Salad. Everything seemed okay, reasonably tasty. The next morning, however, both W and I weren’t feeling so great. I suspect that the culprit may have been the Jalapeño Oriental Salad, which did have a slightly sour off-note, but I’d attributed it to the vinaigrette dressing. For the first time on the blog, I’m giving a retroactive rating to a meal: 0.0 on account of apparent food poisoning (it might’ve been 2.5 otherwise). Risking our lives to save a lousy 3,074 won.
