Mission to Switzerland, Day 4 (see previously 6.309 Fricasseée de Gambas…).
In Chavannes-de-Bogis (suburb 20 kilometers north of Geneva). Arrived Sunday. Here for a meeting on diet and physical activity, Monday through today. Going back to Korea tomorrow.
Based on memory, backed by existing photographic documentation, I believe that this is the 6th visit to Switzerland, the first since the launch of GMTD, the first since joining WHO as staff.
Stuck eating crap in the hotel for the past few days, we were told in hushed whispers that a better option — in fact, the only other option within a 30-minute walk, 30-minute drive — was a small shopping center located down the road. No full-service restaurants, just a handful of coffee shops and bakeries. But the supermarket was exceptional, perhaps the cleanest, most diverse, well-presented grocery store that I’ve ever encountered.
As much as I love living in Manila, the food shopping leaves much to be desired.
Although I wanted to buy almost everything in the place, I settled on some ready-to-go items from the Asian/Middle-Eastern stand.
The hummus was awesome.
Maybe moving to HQ wouldn’t be so bad.
