As per tradition, on the evening of the second day of the 69th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Western Pacific, the Regional Director hosted a welcome dinner for all Member States and the secretariat.
This my second time attending the RD Dinner (see most recently 6.281 RD’s Dinner), this time as technical lead for the agenda item on strengthening legal frameworks for health in the Sustainable Development Goals.
Bittersweet, as this will be Dr Shin’s final RD Dinner. Dr Kasai was elected earlier today as our new Regional Director, who will take office next February.
