In Nadi, again. Here to conduct a series of planning meetings and ocular inspections – Friday and Saturday in Nadi, Monday and Tuesday in Suva, Thursday in Nadi again – in preparation for the Fifth Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentarian Forum on Global Health, which will be held in Fiji in August 2019. This is the third such mission in advance of the Fifth Meeting (see previously 10.049 Termite Mushroom Steamed Halibut).
As the Fifth Meeting’s theme will be climate change and health, we are scouting potential sites for a field visit, a place to show the on-the-ground health impacts of climate change, like this relocation village for families displaced from their homes due to severe weather events.
I’d bought the frozen pizza the other day (see photo of supermarket freezer on Day 5) as an emergency late-nite snack. Had it for dinner – after roaming the countryside all day, I was too wiped to go out. The Fiji-made Tiffin brand pizza challenged the addage about pizza/sex: “Even when it’s bad, it’s still good.”
