Fried Chicken & Waffles is an American dish, sort of. Essentially a combination of 2 common dishes, it consists of standard waffles, served with butter and maple syrup, plus standard fried chicken on the side or on top. The invention of the dish is attributed to Harlem, New York, during the 1930s, converging the northeastern practice of pairing proteins with waffles, and the southern soul food staple of fried chicken.
I have a hazy memory of eating fried chicken and waffles at Roscoe’s House of Chicken n Waffles in LA after a long night of partying when I was in grad school.

Bruxie is an American restaurant chain. Founded 2010 in Southern California. Specializes in various types of waffles and fried chicken, including their signature waffle and fried chicken sandwich.
I find it hard to believe that the Korean branch is still in business after 4 years – just not the kind of thing that Koreans would seem to like very much.
I liked the components, but not at the same time. The waffle was crispy and fluffy, tasty. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, tasty. But they felt kinda heavy in combination. And the pairing of tangy syrup with creamy cole slaw was weird. Anyway.
