HAPPY HOUR

The Korean International Librarians Association (KILA), an informal network of the librarians working at the (28) international schools throughout Korea, meets twice a year to discuss various topics.  Following the KILA meeting in the spring of 2023, hosted this afternoon at Seoul International School (SIS) (my alma mater – Go Tigers!), we arranged for the participants to visit our warehouse (about 20), partly as an opportunity to purchase books but more more importantly to consider future opportunities for collaboration.

On the tail end of the visit, we hosted a happy hour on the roof of the building, including beverages and snacks.

DINNER

At the end of a long month/week/day, at home and on my own for dinner, too tired/lazy/apathetic to cook, I opted for delivery from our go-to Korean-Chinese delivery joint.  I was vaguely in the mood for the spiciness of a jjambbong, or the savoriness of a jjajang myeon, or the lightness of a mushroom stir-fry, but not particularly enthused about any of them, so I just ordered them all.

I didn’t eat all of this (but, admittedly, a lot of it).

Though not as much a fan of jjajang myeon in general as I used to be – it was for a time considered my all-time favorite dish – my preferred variation remains the yuni version (see 2.023 Yuni Jjajang Myeon).
