Double Happiness is a Chinese restaurant. Claims to specialize in “American Chinese BBQ,” whatever that is, though other menu items lean Cantonese.
Our original destination was Taco Minor, but the wait was too long, so we went to Double Happiness, which I’d been looking forward to trying.
The food was okay. It started strong with dimsum and lo mein (more of a chow mein). But the Chicken BBQ fell flat: the chicken was odd, kinda sweetish, didn’t taste Chinese, didn’t taste American; same with the fried rice. Other mains, like mapa tofu and beef noodle soup, were reported to be less than satisfactory.
I might go back but stick just to the dimsum and lo mein.
