To celebrate my uncle’s 70th birthday, we gathered for dinner. He chose Hwa Hwa, his favorite Japanese restaurant, where we had celebrated my mother’s birthday a few years back (see 12.048 Golden Lobster Sashimi Etc.).
On this second visit, I am now fully convinced that the restaurant is incapable of anything but mediocrity. Starting with a platter of utterly unimpressive sashimi, the meal went downhill from there.
