Recalling fondly that this was the first restaurant where we ate as a family upon our return to Korea, upon our release from quarantine (see generally 11.162 Modeum Sashimi), it continues to be one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, one of the few that we all agree on. Especially after the change in ownership a couple years back, the new owner being so much more family-friendly (the previous owner clearly didn’t like kids, at least in the evenings, presumably because kids don’t generate alcohol sales) – she always makes sure to give us couple complimentary bowls of udon, which aren’t even on the menu (presumably kept on standby for when kids on in the house).

Curiously, however, the menu has since eliminated most options that would appeal to kids, such as tonkatsu, ramen, etc, leaving only a handful of pricy anju dishes. Which is also bad news for grownups, like me, on occasions when I would’ve liked to drop by for a simple meal, which are now available exclusively for lunch. Indeed, I’m getting kinda tired of the menu – without trying, I’m near completion of TEILS (Try Every Item at Lee Sang).
