The four of us went to the mall (COEX Mall) together. I was done within minutes (a quick visit to the LEGO store) and IZ had zero shopping to do, but W and DJ needed extended time. So, IZ and I went across the street to TimHoWan for an early dinner.
A new item, the black truffle xiaolongbao was good. Had a similar item many years ago at Paradise Dynasty in Manila, where I hadn’t been too impressed: “not sure whether the ammoniac funk of the truffle works within the flavor profile” (see 9.303 Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao). But here, the truffle flavor was subtle, just enough to accent the pork and soup. I’d always prefer the standard dumpling, though this truffle version would be nice on occasion.
