Steamed Lobster

The real birthday meal was yesterday (see generally 15.357 Lobster Braised with Superior Broth), but the In-Laws came over for lunch to share in the glory of my coming on the day of.
Of course, I opted for lobster, even though I’d had it the meal prior.
I wonder, if I could have lobster every day, in whatever style I wanted, would I ever get tired of it?
Alas, the steamed lobster was dry and flavorless. Through no fault of the vendor, cutting up the lobster into bite-sized pieces makes it convenient to eat but unavoidably loses moisture, especially after the extended time involved in a delivery situation (see also 13.220 Steamed Lobster); leaving the lobster whole keeps it moist but is a pain to eat (see for example 11.243 Steamed Lobster). The black pepper sauce helped, but not enough.
Therefore, I will never again order steamed lobster via delivery.
For the occasion, the boys played an improvised duet of “Happy Birthday.” Much improved from their performance at W’s birthday in February (see for comparison 15.052 Grilled Eel) – so glad that the millions invested in private lessons are starting to pay off.
