Fried & Fries

at Coco Chicken
-Changgok, Sujeong, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea-
with HL, DP, HSK, HYM
For the second and final get-together with HL while he’s in town (see previously 16.174 Shanghai Feast), we had dinner at the eel place, which he’d enjoyed on his prior trip a couple years back (see generally 14.166 Pungcheon Jangeo). We were joined by HYM (see most recently 16.130 New York Strip Steaks (+ Opus One)).
Afterwards, we drove a couple blocks to SIS, parked the cars there, and walked around until finding a place for a few drinks and snacks.

Previously, I’d noted that the term “chi-kin (chicken/치킨)” in Korean refers to fried chicken (see generally 10.135 Chi-Kin).
These days, fried chicken is also referred to simply as “hu-ra-i-deu (fried/후라이드).”
A long time ago, “ken-teo-ki (Kentucky/켄터키)” referred to fried chicken, via Kentucky Fried Chicken (see for for example 3.093 Kentucky).
