HL is in town, solo (not quite sure exactly why, apparently just to visit his parents).

For the first of 2 scheduled get-togethers, I invited him over for dinner at our place, along with HSK and his family.  With 9 total mouths to feed, I simply ordered a spread from Shanghai.  Never in my life had I hosted a dinner party and not cooked the food, and though the mundanity of neighborhood Korean-Chinese seems even worse, I rationalized the decision by hoping that HL, who lives in a Northern California suburb without access to things like jjajang myeon via delivery, might be entertained.

It turned out fine, with every dish a competent 2.5 across the board.

The last time that the families were together was when HL and his family had visited in June 2023 (see generally 14.170 Grilled (Salt + Soy) Chicken).
