-
- Day 1 (17.001 Steamed Grouper in Scallion Soy Sauce)
- Day 2 (17.002 Rock Lobster in Garlic Sauce)
- Day 3 (17.003 Caldereta de Cabrito)
- Day 4 (17.004 Samgye Tang)
- Day 5 (17.005 Chicken Adobo with Fried Eggs + Kimchi)
In Cebu. With DJ (IZ has already started school, so he and W stayed behind). Third time for both us, first when DJ was not yet 4 (see generally 2.124 Pancit Canton), second when DJ was not yet 7 and IZ was 2 (see generally 5.121 Best Pig … Ever!). Tagged along with MtG and his family, who got their PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water certifications (DJ also AOW). Arrived Tuesday, a day early to spend some quality time with DJ. Dived together Wednesday + Thursday + Friday. Going back tomorrow.
DIVING
As of today, DJ is an Advanced Open Water diver.

DINNER
The owners of the dive shop invited us to dinner.

The food was good. Everyone seemed shocked to be served an entire chicken in their samgye tang, but all bowls were nearly empty by the end of the meal.

After dinner, the fun began. As per Korean diving tradition, divers to receive a new certification were compelled to do a beer bong with a snorkel (though the owner didn’t quite do it right – the funnel should first be completely filled, then the recipient drinks it all in one go). Followed by karaoke – mostly DJ, accompanied by others (not me) – several hours thereof. By 22:00, I’d had enough and pulled the plug, much to everyone’s disappointment, especially the owners, who were having way too much fun (probably get kinda lonely).
