Kimchi Samgyeop Duruchigi
4.0
-Seongsu, Seongdong, Seoul, Republic of Korea-
with W, dbBOOKS staff, KIT
Our annual New Year Party (see previously 16.012 Haemul Pa Jeon).

In considering potential venues, I suddenly remembered that KIT’s restaurant is near the office, a perfect fit for our 28 staff, so we rented the place out.

With a budget of 1,600,000, inclusive of drinks, he was tasked to serve a special meal worthy of a New Year Party, including items not on the restaurant menu.

Duruchigi is a Korean dish. Pork, often thinly sliced pork belly, stir-fried with kimchi and other aromatics.

I insisted that the highlight of the meal be the Kimchi Samgyeop Duruchigi, which used to be called Ggot Kimchi Jjim (see generally 11.175 Ggot Kimchi Jjim).

At the end of the evening, he asked for an additional 400,000 – Hanwoo and Baskin Robbins were more expensive than anticipated, he said. I was drunk, and everyone seemed very happy with the food, so what the hell.
