In keeping with her favorite pastime of buying food that she’ll never eat (see generally 16.349 Mongolian Beef & Cabbage), W had discovered a new brand of low sodium gim (dried laver) a few months back and ordered a huge box containing 20 packages. However, the low sodium (i.e., less salt) makes it taste bland, and nobody likes it, including W. So, in a noble effort to salvage what is otherwise a perfectly edible item, I tried making it into gim bap. Alas, because the sheets are roasted, they didn’t quite hold their shape when rolled. W has promised to give the rest to her parents next week – which is progress, because usually she’d insist that she’ll eat it someday but won’t and then throw it out anyway.
