Hygiene is one thing that I failed to mention in my post yesterday on the essential criteria for a sushi restaurant (see 2.326 Salmon/California Roll). I don’t know for sure if food poisoning was the problem, or if the restaurant was the culprit, but I fell deathly ill a few hours after I’d eaten there. W and DJ, having already eaten separately at a Korean noodle shop next door, had safely sat by while I loudly and ironically proclaimed the virtues of budget sushi.
I always eat juk (rice porridge) when I’m sick.
Someday, hopefully, W will learn to make it for me.
