As previously considered (see 3.150 Chicken Masala with Paratha), I’ve decided henceforth to classify South Asian items as “Indian” by default when in doubt about its origins, unless some specific and incontrovertible factor indicates otherwise.  Granted, the culinary cultures of the countries in the region all have their own variations on certain common dishes, but I don’t feel comfortable making the distinction in my present state of inexperience and ignorance.  Better to play it safe and get it wrong.  So, for now, I’m going to assume that something like masala curry is Indian.
