MIL is beginning to get the idea that I prefer simpler, lighter foods over the rich, heavy Korean dishes that she usually cooks.  Not that the meal was in any way about me – in fact, it was to celebrate her birthday – but she prepared an extra item for me anyway.  She didn’t quite know what the dish was, just some packaged product with precooked chicken and sauce in a pouch that she’d bought at the market because it looked like something that I might enjoy it.

Happy birthday, MIL!
