In making another batch of her signature dumplings the day before, our nanny had prepared too much filling. I used the leftovers towards one of my signature stir-fries, but it didn’t turn out so well because: (i) the garlic chives had gotten a bit mushy, (ii) minced, the scapes didn’t provide sufficient chewiness, and (iii) I’d run out of oyster sauce, necessitating a soy sauce substitution. Whatever.
