Thank u mom is a Korean restaurant chain. Specializes in fried chicken, plus items like pizza and pasta and salad, local draft beer and imported bottled beers.

The signature item is “biscuit chicken.” According to the explanation on the takeout box, the chicken is marinated and coated then baked, “oil free,” to make a healthier yet comparable alternative to fried chicken. The slogan is “Freshly Baked Biscuits from the Oven” (strange that the brand’s name is improperly capitalized, while the slogan gets it right). 15,000 won. 2,000 won discount for takeout.
About the takeout discount, what’s in it for the restaurant? Takeout orders would seem to incur extra costs, including the packaging, the plastic tub of radish and hot sauce, and the complimentary soft drink.
Whatever. It was gross. Kinda crispy but icky. Trying to mimic fried chicken without frying just doesn’t work; certain textures call for certain techniques. Just eat the goddamn fried fried chicken, but maybe less of it or less often if health is a concern. Or roast chicken.
