Number One Swedish Fan GK, during his visit to Korea a few months ago, gave me a tube of caviar paste.  “Just spread it on bread/toast,” he said.  Popular as a quick snack, apparently.  For no particular reason, I never got around to it until this evening, even though the tube has been sitting on my desk and staring me in the face for the past few months.

Now that I’ve tried it, I’m not quite sure what to make of it.  I squeezed the caviar onto toasted squares of white sandwich bread and garnished each piece with a tiny sprig of fresh parsley and a sprinkle of fresh cracked black pepper.  The initial taste of the caviar was okay, I guess, if rather fishy, kinda like anchovy paste.  But it was so intensely salty that I couldn’t seem to taste anything after a couple chews.  Maybe I used too much.  Or maybe it takes getting used to.

Thanks, GK!
